GOING LONG
Leonid, a self-made man at the age of 62, is introduced for the first time to one of the most grueling endurance sports, triathlon, in its ultimate form: the IRONMAN distance race. The extreme physical and mental challenges faced by athletes during this event draw him in like a magnet, setting off a whirlwind of events that radically change his life. After only a year of training, Leonid qualifies for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, a dream coveted by triathletes around the world. But just weeks before the race, a serious bike crash results in a severe injury, requiring a hip replacement. Understanding he may never again qualify for the World Championship, Leonid nonetheless continues his training, determined at least to participate in the race of his dreams. During a stormy swim training session, a massive wave tears out the hip implant and completely destroys his femur. Miraculously surviving, Leonid is faced with a choice: to live out his life as a disabled person, or to once again attempt to change his fate.
