Tesseract
A tesseract is a four dimensional cube, meaning it contains a direction that is incomprehensible in our three dimensional existence. Set in the far future, viewers follow the journey of a humanoid being as they encounter a tesseract and are transported to a plain of existence they are normally unable to perceive.
Inspired by a shared interest in science fiction this collaborative video/audio piece is a whimsical imagination of what a fourth dimension might be like.
Gracie Safranovich is an artist working in print and intermedia. Her video work revolves around whimsical characters in science fiction settings through which she explores how the passing of time and the processes of decay and deterioration that accompany it alters our relationships with mundane objects, the environment, and technology. Gracie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alberta (2024).
