Volunteering at Stafford Film Festival
A festival is a handful of people doing a large number of small jobs well. Most of those jobs do not require any film experience at all.
What volunteers actually do
Stewarding and looking after the audience. Technical support in the screening room. Photography on the day. Social media during the event. Box office and welcome desk. And the most useful category of all, which is being willing to go where you are needed.
What you get out of it
You see the films. You meet the filmmakers, who are usually in the room and usually pleased to talk. If you are trying to get into the industry, a festival day puts you next to working people in a way that an application form never will.
No experience needed
For most roles, none at all. If you have technical experience we will absolutely use it, but the majority of what needs doing is attention and reliability rather than skill.
How to register interest
The expression of interest form is on the volunteer page. Tell us which role appeals and roughly what your availability looks like. We will come back to you as the 2026 dates firm up.
